I mentioned the other day that Andrew and I are
standing in as godparents for two of our closest friends' sweet new baby girl (the real ones live out of state)! I wanted to wear something a little fancier, but not flashy, and simple but not boring, while remembering that it's not about me, you know?
This black shift dress has been my best friend this fall and winter (you can see how else I wore it
here and
here). Today I decided to dress it up with gold extras and pink lips and nails. I spent most of yesterday running errands while listening to Adele. Subconsciously, I think she could've influenced my sort-of beehive. Maybe?

I think you totally accomplished your goal! You look great!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Kinsi!
DeleteYou look fab, as always!! I want to have your closet! That necklace is fantastic and those shoes! Just stop. I can't handle them!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! You're not the only one...judging by the outfits you put together, I'd gladly go tradesies any day of the week =)
DeleteLovely. Those shoes are so cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, Rachael!
DeleteCute!!! I'm a huge fan of that nail color.
ReplyDeleteThank you! My husband called my nails "Barbie pink," but I decided that's okay with me =)
DeleteThat is such a pretty necklace, pair of shoes and smile :)
ReplyDeleteYou're too sweet, Jenna! Thank you!
DeleteOK - I love this look. The dress is so flattering and the SHOES! They are sparkly wonderfulness. You have accessorized with some sweet baubles as well. Well done my friend. Looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMary! Thanks so much!
DeleteI'm really loving this look & those shoes are to die for. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so, so much, Andrea!
DeleteVery nice and the shape of that dress is great.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Martha! The shape of the dress is great in the sense that it's loose enough to hide having just eaten a big meal =)
DeleteI love that black dress! And it's so great how you've simply changed the accessories and voila - three different looks!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Beth!
DeleteCount me in for loving those shoes too. SO cute! You look lovely.
ReplyDeleteI think the hair AND dress are Adele-inspired. Gorgeous!
Thank you! If only I had her other talents...hope you had a great weekend, Andrea!
DeleteForget Adele (although, she is fabulous), I think you're totally channeling Audrey Hepburn with this outfit!
ReplyDeleteStop! That's one of the best compliments this girl could ever hear! Thanks so much, Ellen!
DeleteCute outfit and I LOVE that necklace (I am an Adele fan too)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI love your whole outfit - as usual! Those shoes are great, and your nails provide a lovely pop of color!
ReplyDeleteI hope your weekend has been wonderful, and that your week is good =)
Amanda! Thank you! I hope your week's off to a good start, too!
DeleteJust lovely! I love your necklace and shoes paired with the black! And I really like your hairstyle! :) Hope you two had fun standing in!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! It was the most fun I've ever had at a baptism, not because I was a part of it, but because there was such an outpouring of community--the party afterward lasted for about 5 hours! We also got to kneel in front of the Blessed Mother as parents and fake-godparents and consecrate the baby to her. It's something I'll always remember!
DeleteYou have such adorable outfits! I love your necklace- the gold and black look great together. And your hair looks fab!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lisa!
DeleteI am going to be a Godmother this weekend and I completely understand the outfit conundrum. Cuter than normal, not about you, but still want to look good for all the pictures and ability to hold a baby in it without said baby being tangled up in scarves or jewlwery.
ReplyDeleteScarves and jewelry? You're a genius. I hadn't taken that into account when I chose that big ol' necklace, but luckily, there weren't any incidents =) Congratulations; have fun this weekend!
